This has been quite a year for Allen Iverson. He's basically solidified himself as an overrated d-bag thanks to single-handedly torpedoing the Pistons season because of his me-first attitude, all while the guy he was traded for - Chauncey Billups - revived the Nuggets to the point where they're about to be the #2 seed in the much deeper Western Conference. Not only that, but it's also apparent that Iverson's recent season ending "injury" was pretty much just an excuse for him to avoid coming off the bench anymore, and for the Pistons to get rid of his cancerous presence in the locker room.
So what's The Answer up to now that he isn't playing basketball? Apparently getting banned from every Detroit casino. Yes, Allen Iverson is riding gracefully into the sunset, no question.
The NBA is looking into a disturbance at Greektown that involved one of Iverson's body guards. Iverson may have been trying to act as a peacemaker but his body guard was involved in some kind of tussle.
Iverson, though, has been banned mostly for his boorish behavior. He is a bad loser, and he loses a lot, often throwing his chips or cards at the dealer. He has been warned about improper behavior at the tables repeatedly. He is often loud and disruptive, according to witnesses, rude to dealers, other players and the wait staff.
So far, Iverson has been banned from the Greektown and MGM casinos in Detroit. Earlier this season, Iverson caused a disturbance at a casino outside of Minneapolis and he's also earned a bad reputation for his exploits in Atlantic City.
Considering Iverson is known for dropping A TON of money at casinos - combined with the fact that the Detroit economy is a disaster right now - something tells me that Iverson must have been one hell of an asshole to get himself banned from these casinos.
Although somehow, I'm not surprised.
By the way, considering Iverson's contract is up at the end of this season, I wonder who'll sign him next year?
