Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen claims his side is not underestimating any threats in the run for the Premier League title. Liverpool, who are in the title race along with Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal, have surprised everyone this season with their superb form and shot at the title.

The Reds haven’t lifted the league title since 1990, which is why hopes of finally acquiring the Premier League title are quite high. Allen, who has turned out to be an important player for Liverpool having started in the last three games, explained that Liverpool remained focus on acquiring success.

Liverpool have now won seven consecutive games, a task they hadn’t achieved since 2006. The club’s real title test will be next month when the Reds host the two hot-favorites teams for the title, Chelsea and Manchester City.

Allen insists Liverpool should be wary of complacency this late in the season if they want to continue with their title run. Liverpool will be visiting White Hart Lane to play against Tottenham Hotspur this Sunday.

The Welsh midfielder believes Liverpool need to take every game as their last one in order to acquire the best results out of each game.

“There will be talk about those games (Chelsea and City) but there are three points up for grabs in every game, and every team we play are likely to have a lot to play for,” Allen said. “We are excited to be where we are, we are working really hard and are hungry to keep this run we are ongoing, but we have tough games from now until the end of the season so we have to keep fighting till the end.

“Until the very end anything is possible so we have to keep our focus and keep a strong mentality. Games like the one against Sunderland make us realize we can't be complacent for a second.”

Allen further added that every team in the league is capable of delivering a deadly blow. The midfielder explained that Liverpool had the same feeling playing against Sunderland. The 24-year-old suggested that Liverpool were their “own worst critics” and that the team always tried to learn from their mistakes.

Allen further stated that the club might still be in its building phase, but it had certainly proved its might and hunger for silverware. Allen insists Liverpool is a world class team and that the reason for the club’s success was that “everyone has added something different to the team”.
