Aly Cissokho keen to make Liverpool move permanent
Liverpool’s rise to glory has certainly attracted a great deal of interest from players with desire to move away. It appears that the Reds will finally manage to attract big names this summer. Presently, Valencia defender Aly Cissokho claims he would love to make a permanent move to Liverpool.
The left-back insists he would relish the opportunity to seal a deal with Liverpool that would see him play under the Red colors he is wearing as loaned-out player. Cissokho, who has been acquired by Valencia on a season long loan, has already made five appearances in the Premier League.
It appears as if Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is starting to like the 26-year-old. The France international made 36 appearances for Valencia last season, which is why it was surprising to see the Spanish club agree to terms with Liverpool on Cissokho’s loan deal.
“It's a great source of pride for me every day to be able to play with players like this and to represent a big club like Liverpool,” Cissokho told Liverpool’s official website.
“It's a source of pride for all the coaches I had as a youth player. Of course, I am very happy to be here and I hope to stay here.”
Jose Enrique’s absence due to injury from the Liverpool squad has given Cissokho the opportunity to impress Rodgers. Cissokho understands it will be difficult to cement his place in the first-team, but the defender already seems to have covered a lot of ground on that front.
“To start with, when you want to play in a team like Liverpool, you have to expect that there's going to be high level of competition for each place, whether in central defense, midfield or in attack,” Cissokho said.
“The season is long, and there are a lot of matches to come. The coach makes, and will continue to make, his decisions, and it's important to respect them so that the team can be in the best shape each Saturday.”
