I am sad to report Qers that at the end of this season, Montel will end all productions of the Montel Williams show.  After 17 years on the air with helping viewers of amazing guest find the inner you, he has decided to end the show.  Montel Williams has established himself as a top player in the competitive daytime talk show arena since his debut in 1991. He is also a decorated former navel intelligence officer and renowned motivational speaker, author and philanthropist.

"I can’t say thank you enough to those who’ve welcomed me into their homes for the past seventeen years. It has been both an honor and a joy,” said Williams in a statement. “I talked with over 30,000 guests and over a half million studio audience members.”

President of CBS Television Distribution, John Nogawski, released a statement about Williams’ departure. “We have been honored to have Montel as part of our family for the past 17 years, and we’re excited that Montel will live on through these ‘Best of’ episodes,” the statement said.

When he was diagnosed with MS in 1999, Mr. Williams made a pledge to use his celebrity to find a cure. Because of his unique position, he has had access to the latest research being conducted around the world. True to his word, he established The Montel Williams MS Foundation in 2000 to further the scientific study of MS, provide financial assistance to select organizations and institutions conducting research, raise national awareness, and educate the public. In a short time, the organization has reached several milestones: It has granted over $1 million dollars to research; it has supported a study done at The Karolinska Institute in Sweden which discovered an MS gene; and it is produced its first major public event – a bike-a-thon –  held on September 30, 2006, in Sag Harbor, N.Y. You will be missed Montel
