The 76ers have announced that Andrew Bynum will be cleared to resume basketball duties on December 10th. This, however, does not mean that he will return to the court immediately. Because Bynum has taken so much time off, it may take up an additional 1-4 weeks for Bynum to work on his conditioning, strength, and to shake off the rust that he’s built up during his rehab.
"It's better than when it started, it's just not quite there yet," Bynum said. "It's not where I want it to be. As far as getting better, I think this is the way I need to handle it. It's tough. I want to get out there, I want to play. It's just a roller coaster. Obviously, missing games is not good. I want to be out there, I want to be there with my teammates."
The 76ers are currently 4-3 without Bynum, which means that they have average roster already set in place. Once Bynum gets fully healthy and returns to the court, his presence alone should take them from a borderline playoff team to a playoff contending team in no time.
