Sixer fans have reason to be excited this holiday season. Not only are the Sixers doing quite well without their franchise center, Andrew Bynum, but his return may be quite imminent.
On Sunday, Bynum said, “Actually I'm feeling better and the pain is down in both knees, which is good. But there could be something floating around in there.”
Bynum has even started participating in some shooting drills, although he hasn’t participated in drills involving contact.
"The update really is I'm feeling much better, I would say, than the initial state of injury," Bynum said.” "When I see the doctor, hopefully I will be cleared for impact."
Bynum knows that even after the swelling in his knee totally subsides, that he is going to have to do a lot of conditioning in order to get back into game shape. However, even if Bynum played only 10 minutes a game, it could help the undersized Sixers have somewhat of a inside presence on the floor.
"I'm going to have to work extremely hard to get back into form,” Bynum said. “Obviously I've been off for quite some time now. It's kind of ridiculous. But I'm just looking forward to getting back on the treadmill and running for the first time this entire summer."
