One more tennis nugget before we turn full focus towards that sport that's actually popular here.
Novak Djokovic is famous for his on-court impersonations, mockings of tennis' biggest names. His Rafael Nadal is nearly perfect. Last year he put on a great show at the US Open:
Tuesday the tables were turned a bit thanks to Andy Roddick. He didn't provide any on-court imitations of his maddening ball bounce before his serve, but Roddick did poke fun at Djokovic's dramatizations of his injuries.
After his match Tuesday night, Roddick was told about Djokovic complaining of an injured ankle when this exchange took place:
Roddick: Isn't it both of them? And a back and a hip?
Reporter: And when he said there are too many to count …
Roddick: And a cramp.
Reporter: Do you get a sense right now that he is …
Roddick: Bird flu.
Reporter: A lot of things. Beijing hangover.
Roddick: Yeah.
Reporter: He's got a pretty long list of illness.
Roddick: Anthrax. SARS. Common cough and cold.
Djokovic's coach responded by saying Novak would do his talking on the court. Oh, it's on!
