Hello, it's me again. Last Thursday, I recommended you all catch the IndyCar race Saturday night. I hope you heeded my words, because despite some concern that cold and windy conditions would hamper the racing, they put on an amazing show. Lap after lap of 2 and even 3 wide racing. The full highlights are here, and below is the final seven laps, a duel between Ryan Briscoe and Scott Dixon, with cameos from Graham Rahal and Mario Moraes. In the end, Briscoe nipped Dixon by .0077 seconds, or 27 1/2 inches, the 4th closest finish in IndyCar Series history. Briscoe now leads the championship by 25 points over Dario Franchitti and 33 over Dixon.
I do want to point out that this ending shows that the Power-to-Pass is not the sole thing that fixed the oval racing. As Jack Arute noted, Briscoe used his last overtake with 2 laps to go, and thus had none for that drag race at the end.
No matter what the reason, I hoped you enjoyed the race if you did see it, and even if you didn't, check future IndyCar schedules. If you see one of a 1.5 mile "cookie cutter" tracks, the Chicagolands, the Texases, the Kentuckys, tune in for some fantastic racing.
I, for one, am extremely happy I watched the entire race, as it was freaking AWESOME! So good, in fact, that one of my new goals is to get to an IRL race, hopefully next September for Kentucky.
While once I was an Indy fan who bacame more of a NASCAR fan, I am fast becoming a true RACING fan again. Open wheel, Stocks, bikes, hell, bring 'em ALL on!

Now who gave you the idea to go to Kentucky next year...
