Reportedly, Jamison was under the wrong impression about whether or not the Los Angeles Clippers were interested in signing him, after the Los Angeles Lakers made it very clear they had zero interest in bringing the veteran forward back.
Marc J. Spears reported:
Free agent F Antawn Jamison was led to believe he was signing with LAC before being told today they preferred Lamar Odom, Y! source said.— Marc J. Spears (@SpearsNBAYahoo) August 16, 2013
However, Lamar Odom wants a contract larger than the $1.4 minimum that the Clippers are offering him. The problem for him is that no other team is knocking at his door.
So, if LO won't take that deal, then there's still a chance that they could turn to Jamison who will probably take that offer.
Clippers willing to offer Lamar Odom vet. mim. of $1.4 million. Odom would like more, but no team has offered LO anything more.— Brad Turner (@BA_Turner) August 16, 2013
Since Jamison is going with the idea that the Clippers are wooing LO, the teams who have expressed interest are the Chicago Bulls and Memphis Grizzlies.
Jamison is the type of player who can fit in with nearly any team, unless they're looking for someone who can play defense. He'll come off the bench, give you some points, and if nothing else, at least your starters will get some rest.
