Cromartie was a Pro Bowler in 2013, registering 3 interceptions and 10 passes defended.

The Jets are one of the teams targeting free agent Alterraun Verner, and the Jets needed some more cap room.

The Jets will still need to find a cornerback somewhere, partially to replace Darrelle Revis, whom they traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before last season.

Now, the market will open up for Cromartie. Lots of teams are looking for talent in the secondary, and he could be a welcome addition in several places. We'll see what kind of interest there is in him.
