According the Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports, the Arizona Cardinals have fired head coach Ken Whisenhunt and GM Rod Graves.LaCanfora also notes that their firings bring the Black Monday total up to 7 head coaches and 5 general managers.
Whisenhunt went 45-51 in 6 seasons with the Cardinals.
As we've discussed for a few other guys who were fired today, the real problem in Arizona has been the lack of a quality QB.
When Whisenhunt had Kurt Warner, he led the Cardinals to a Super Bowl, which they almost won against the Steelers.
After Warner's retirement, the Cardinals have gone 18-30 in 3 seasons, and 8 different players have played QB for the Cardinals at one point or another.
The complete lack of a quality QB is a large portion of the reason for Graves' departure. He absolutely whiffed on Kevin Kolb, and a GM who can't find a franchise QB is forever doomed.
