The incident, which apparently took place December 23, will be filed by Tuscon police later this week.
Another report by the same newspaper stated this:
This is not something you would hope to find from the nation’s leading rusher (or anyone, for that matter), especially if he’s trying to make a name for himself at the NFL level.
According to Tucson police, Carey was trying to get into his pregnant ex-girlfriend's house to get a lighter to smoke drugs. She wouldn't let him inside so he allegedly pushed the woman down and then slammed the door on her hand.
"I've spoken with Ka'Deem and am aware of the case," coach Rich Rodriguez said. "We take these matters very seriously and will support the authorities however we can. Once more specific information is available, we will act accordingly."
Carey, a consensous All-American, ran for 1,929 yards and 23 touchdowns this past season as a junior. Arizona finished 8-5 (4-5 Pac-12).
