First, my thoughts are with Northern Illinois University this morning after 5 are dead in another unfortunate campus shooting. Much less important, the Huskies have canceled all sporting events this weekend. Matt Sussman of Futon Report (and occasionally Deadspin) has a take I enjoyed about how these Interwebs draw you closer to those affected by these events. James Harden. Know him, love him. Arizona State blew their own lead earlier in the game and faced a seven point deficit (which conveniently enough was when I turned the game on) with 1:49 to go. Then the Sun Devils began trading threes for Stanford free throws and in a move that shows Harden's maturity as a freshman, went for the easy two with :16 seconds to go, down three. After another foul, and another missed Stanford free throw, Harden once again drove to the bucket and got the tying two. He wasn't done. Harden scored the first eight Sun Devil points in OT, getting a big win against an overrated Cardinal. Bracketologists had ASU right on the edge, so this should slide them in ... for now. Arizona St. 72, Stanford 68.
Karma's a bitch. I thoroughly enjoyed Tennessee's women getting smoked at home, the worst loss in 11 years, by LSU 78-62.
Friday Night Hoops Here's to hoping this becomes a trend. #24 Pittsburgh vs #25 Marquette tonight. Nice work by the Big East.
Some more on Indiana's situation later this morning ...
