Blog Photo - Aroldis Chapman gets hit in the head with a line drive

Aroldis Chapman was the victim of a freak injury last night in a game against the Royals, when he took a line drive in the head off the bat of Royals catcher Salvador Perez.

Chapman was immediately taken to the hospital for tests, and the game was called off after an 8-minute delay.

If Chapman misses considerable time, Jonathan Broxton or J.J. Hoover will likely take over closer duties for the Reds. Hopefully it doesn't come down to that, but the Reds (and fantasy owners) certainly have to prepare for the worst.

Even though the Reds are a rival to my Cardinals, you never like to see this happen to any player.

That said, the latest on Chapman is that he will miss at least 6-8 weeks but he is expected to make a full recovery.

I agree, you never  want to see this, but so relieved to hear he will make a full recovery!
