The tale of Theo Walcott has had many twists and turns over the past six months. As the January transfer window approaches we are set to discover the last round of talks between Theo Walcott and Arsenal.
The 23-year-old England international has forced Arsenal to reconsider his demands with his phenomenal form this season. The young English speedster scored a brilliant hat-trick in a 7-3 victory over Newcastle United on Saturday, just before he heads into the January transfer window.
Theo Walcott will be allowed to directly contact with other clubs regarding a transfer move once the January transfer window starts as the forward will enter the last six months of his contract with Arsenal.
The former Southampton player had intentions of leaving Arsenal this fall. Chelsea and Liverpool have kept Arsenal on edge for most of the season. Reportedly, Chelsea are planning on making a large bid on Theo Walcott during the January transfer window, but Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has asked the young forward to show faith in the club as they once showed in him.
The transfer saga is set to take a new turn once the January transfer window opens as foreign clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan and Juventus are keen on holding direct talks with Theo Walcott.
Arsenal insiders suggest Theo Walcott has no plans to move away from Arsenal this season and all of the problems he has with the club are being sorted out. Theo Walcott demanded a huge raise and the more opportunities to play as a striker in the first team.
Arsene Wenger turned down these demands declaring that it was he who made tactical decisions at the club. Since then the Frenchman has been forced tested Theo Walcott as a striker at a couple of instances and he has been surprised to find out that the youngster performs brilliantly as a striker.
Theo Walcott’s salary demand of £100,000-a-week is also being reviewed. According to recent reports Arsene Wenger has had it with exodus of star players from his squad, which is why he will bend this one time to accommodate the demands of Theo Walcott.
