At least the predictions went right...
7/9/08
"I've just got to shorten up my innings," Kazmir said. "It feels like I'm going 3-2 with everyone, and I've just got to get the quick out." (from TBO.com)
It was a long slow painful game to keep track of. The Yankees got 2 off of Kazmir and then got 3 more runs from the bullpen as the Rays losing streak now falls to 2. Worse off, Boston is now only 3 games back. The Rays need damage control this afternoon against the Yankees and at this point...we'll even take an ugly win by walking in the winning run.
Moving from the Rays to a prediction standpoint...the strong buys of Fan IQ yesterday,
Oakland Athletics (96% Fans), Milwaukee Brewers (94% Fans), Detroit Tigers (93% Fans), Chicago Cubs (91% Fans), Arizona Diamondbacks (91% Fans), New York Mets (89% Fans), Philadelphia Phillies (88% Fans), Boston Red Sox (79% Fans) all won with the exception of the Phillies. Pretty amazing since there are usually more upsets that that amongst the fan favorites. Usually you check the scoreboard and go, 'Washington is already up 7 runs in the 4th, wtf?"
We'll see today if not only the Rays but if other Division leaders (like the Cubbies and the Angels) can keep the mojo moving as we get closer to a A Rod less home run derby.
Joke of the day: Did you hear about the short fortune teller's escape from prision? There is now a small medium at large.
