Check out his apology via twitter.
"I regret any disruption my accident last weekend may have caused members of the community and want to thank the local authorities,"
The best is this clown is pleading not guilty.
I'm now hearing from sources Kidd was driven home by his wife following their fight and then went back out and that's when the accident took place. These athletes are out of control. Instead of pleading not guilty (when everyone, including himself knows he is) why not stand up and apologize for his decision to get behind a wheel while intoxicated?
It's an absolute disgrace. These athletes don't care and don't 'get it'. They are considered role models by many, despite most denying such responsibility. Just admit you made a mistake and that it was the worst decision of your life. Is it that hard to do?
Commissioners of every sport need to take a stand and prevent these idiots from embarrassing their sport. Severe suspensions for such actions need to be implemented. I'm talking 4 games for the NFL, 25 games for baseball and 15 for the NBA. It's time for this nonsense to stop and for these irresponsible morons to be held accountable to a higher standard.
Perhaps more severe suspensions without pay will lead to smarter decisions. Hit them where it hurts--in their wallets.
The NFL and the NFLPA have for many years administered the league-wide Safe Ride program, which does the same for every player in the NFL. If you're drunk pick up a phone and get a ride home at no charge to you. It's that simple. How selfish and irresponsible can someone be if this is at their disposal?
How many people have to be killed by professional athletes behind a wheel before this madness is stopped?

You are absolutely right about the danger of DUI and suspensions across all sports have been handed down, but athletes continue to be pulled over for dui incidents continuously. The league should institute more efficient programs than the "Safe Ride" initiative or extremely heavy suspensions.
