Auburn Quarterback Zeke Pike Dismissed
A prized recruit for coach Gene Chizik for the class of 2012, where he was a U.S. Army All-American player during his senior year at Dixie Heights High School in Kentucky.
He plans on transferring soon.
Although he hurts the team in terms of depth, Bleacher Report's Barrett Sallee says the loss of Pike is not that big of a deal.
Sophomore Kiehl Frazier and true freshman Jonathan Wallace are both performing above and beyond their expectations so far this spring and summer, meaning Pike could have already been the odd man out.
In addition, the Tigers have a huge commitment from class of 2013 quarterback Jeremy Johnson, who stands at 6-foot-6 and is the epitome of dual-threat.
The post-Cam Newton era wasn't kind to Auburn last year. Hopefully it will be a little friendlier to the young guns under center in 2012.
