Sports broadcasts don't really need the fancy scoreboard on the top or bottom of the screen. They could just as easily show two groups of opposing fans side by side and that'd give you a good indication.

For instance, above is an exuberant Auburn Tigers fan who breaks out the robot during his school's 14-6 lead. Below is the video of that Gators fan, again (I figured you wouldn't mind), goes nutso after the loss. Fans are great.
