I have no idea how to play Aussie Rules football. I know it's somewhere between rugby and soccer, but I'm not all that well-versed in those sports either, so that really doesn't help me much.
The one thing I learned from this commercial is that these guys are ridiculous, and our weak little sports just aren't enough to satiate these animals' appetite for violence.
Part of me wishes that I could have been from Australia, so I could enjoy the wonder of Aussie Rules. But part of me is just thankful that I'll never have to run into one of these guys on the street. Thank goodness.
I'm not really sure how to interpret the commercial, but if we keep changing our rules in the leagues here at home, its only a matter or time before other countries start making fun of us
Yes that was true, since they just played the feed from the ABC. ESPN did not do a stellar job trying to help the viewing public out with the nuances of the game. I had to get one of those "Rules of the Game" books to understand it better.
It's a pretty quality commercial. Aussie Rules is a nasty sport, and a great sport. ESPN could've marketed it much better, it's a sport that would probably do great in the US if people had better access to it. I'm just happy Setanta gives me 2 games a week + the highlight show.
I wouldn't want to be in Australia because EVERY ANIMAL THERE IS OUT TO ****ING KILL YOU.
some animals here in Australia only have two legs, drive fast cars, drink beer before driving and I am pretty sure that they have the same sort of animal in the good old USA. So hey we aren't really all that different from you guys you know.
