Other Racing, Bizarre, Aussie Racing Cars

Australian Race Car Driver Attempts to Stop Race From Starting

I'm sure none of you have heard of Aussie Racing Cars before. I know I hadn't. It appears to be a form of touring cars in Australia that's a step below the V8 Supercars. Despite that, I came across this video yesterday, and I think it has an argument for most bizarre incident in racing this year.

The cars are lining up to start the race, when driver Phil Ward flies up from midpack and stops at the start/finish line. Unhappy with the track conditions, Ward gets out and pleads with the officials not to start the race. His move causes all Hell to break loose in the back of the pack, and they try to figure out if the race has started and end up all over the place. What makes this even funnier is that Phil Ward is the owner of the series. In the end, the officials either convinced the boss they could race or just flat ignored him, as they eventually re-lined up and started.

"For those of you watching at home, this actually IS professional motor car racing"  Best comment in the whole video.

This may be one of the dumbest stunts in the history of auto racing.
