Blog Photo - BREAKING: Von Miller tried to corrupt drug test with help of collectorEarlier this year, Von Miller's four game suspension for a positive drug test was increased to six games without much explanation. Well, that explanation may have just been uncovered.

ESPN is reporting that Miller, working with a urine collector, attempted to corrupt the drug-testing program. Miller and the unnamed collector attempted to help Miller avoid failing a test, something they obviously failed to do since the Broncos linebacker was caught anyway.

Reports are money wasn't involved, but rather the collector was "star struck" by Miller. The collector works in Miami, where Miller spends time in the offseason. That was enough for the collector to try and switch Miller's urine with clean urine for the test in question.

The ESPN report states that Miller's six game suspension could've gone as high as a full year, and I'm surprised it didn't given his attack on the integrity of the drug testing process, such as it is. I'm also surprised that Miller would try something like this, because no one cares when NFL players test positive for drugs. If this were baseball, the positive test alone would've gotten Miller figuratively tarred and feathered the rest of his career. In the NFL though, it's serve your four game suspension and everyone forgets about it. Did Miller really need the four game checks lost?

It is unknown at this time whether he will receive any more punishment than the six games he's already suspended.

Well of course he tried. Duh. He wants to play. If you're not cheating, you're not trying. That's what I always say. (I've actually never said that, but now I shall cause I like it) Anyway, this really is no shocker, no one tries to fail drug tests, and 6 games is long enough because I'm ready for him to get on the field, and see if he's still a beast sober. :|

And if the drug testing system was all encompassing, completely accurate, and indiscriminate baseball would be very a bad way.

Wow.  Thought it was strange how this story unfolded...from Miller's vehement initial claims of "I will be cleared" to an unexplained increase in the number of games he was ultimately suspended.  Seems like this could be a pretty explosive story if it ends up involving more players than Miller. Will be interesting...

Why am I not the least bit surprised this happened in South Florida
