Ball Sate may need to change it's mascot from a Cardinal to a chicken. The team refused a bid to the Humanitarian bowl, and a chance to play Boise State. Sure the game would have been at home for Boise State, and few or the fans of Ball State probably would not have made the trip due to the economy, But this would have been a great oppertunity for the progam and the MAC confrence to gain national exposer. Instead they will go to the Motor City bowl and face eithe North Carolina St. or Notre Dame. With both of these opponents they have nothing to gain and everthing to lose. They chickened out and set back their program, their confence, and mid majors in general in the eyes of football fans and quite possibly the polsters.
