Good evening NASCAR friends. As you can tell, I'm not Kramer, but I am filling in for him today. Tonight we have the Bank of America 500, which hopefully won't need a bailout before its conclusion. But more seriously, let's get to the specifics.
As many of you know, Jimmie Johnson dominates the track that's branded with his sponsor's name. He's won here at Lowe's Motor Speedway 5 times in his career. And, truth be told, with tonight's race and the 5 more remaining after it, the Chase may be more or less over. That's because we're reaching a stretch were Johnson dominates. After tonight, the Chase heads to two more places where Johnson has been almost equally unstoppable - Martinsville (four wins) and Atlanta (three wins).
Even worse news for the field is that since qualifying for the Bank of America 500 was rained out on Thursday, the starting positions are determined by points. So yeah, you've got Johnson starting #1 on a track he rules. If you're wondering who I'm picking to win, here's a hint, it's Jimmie Johnson.
Here are Kramer's picks as well, one of which may look somewhat similar.
Pick: Jimmie Johnson - Picking against Jimmie Johnson is like picking the Rams to win the Super Bowl this year.
Dark Horse: Brian Vickers - If he can ever finish a race at Lowe's he could win it. The last 2 Coke 600s he's been leading early and found trouble before the halfway point of the race.
All right everyone, let's go racing!
