Barcelona offer Isaac Cuenca to Arsenal and Liverpool
Arsenal and Liverpool are set to battle over the services of Barcelona youngster Isaac Cuenca. The La Liga leaders have offered both Premier League clubs the opportunity to sign in Isaac Cuenca on loan till the end of the season.
Isaac Cuenca broke into Barcelona’s first-team last season with a couple of highly impressive performances. The 21-year-old Spain international has been an object of interest for a couple of clubs from around Europe since last year.
Arsenal and Liverpool questioned about the availability of the young winger last season, but Barcelona refused to lose him. However, Barcelona have now realized that by keeping Isaac Cuenca at the club they are stunting his growth as a player.
Isaac Cuenca has been sidelined for the past eight months due to a long-term injury. The young forward is set to recover from his injuries by the end of the week and will regain match fitness by the end of the month.
Barcelona’s medical staff has already given Isaac Cuenca the green light to start training with the first-team. Tito Vilanova will be happy to have Isaac Cuenca back in his squad, but he will find it hard to incorporate him into the squad.
Isaac Cuenca hasn’t appeared in a single game for Barcelona this season, which is why Tito Vilanova thinks its best the youngster moves away on a six-moth loan deal. With Lionel Messi, Pedro, Alexis Sanchez, David Villa, and Cristian Tello raring for appearances in Barcelona’s first-team, Isaac Cuenca will find it next to impossible to play in the team at all.
According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, the Barcelona board is eager to ship out Isaac Cuenca before the January transfer window ends. Isaac Cuenca will fit perfectly under Brendan Rodgers or Arsene Wenger because of their similar game-play.
Isaac Cuenca will also provide as a good substitute to Liverpool’s desire for Inter Milan star Philippe Coutinho. Arsene Wenger will also be happy to replace David Villa with Isaac Cuenca on his transfer list.
