Blog Photo - Barcelona star David Villa linked to Arsenal move once again In spite of rumors suggesting he is very close to leave Camp Nou this summer, David Villa claims he is “very happy in Barcelona”. However, the Spaniard refused to reveal his intentions for the transfer window.

The 31-year-old striker refused to comment on the possibility of his exit from Barcelona this summer. Rife rumors suggest David Villa will be joining Arsenal this summer, although neither Barcelona nor Arsenal have come up with an official statement regarding this matter.

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have been after David Villa’s signature for over a year now, but both English clubs have finally called back their search for the Spain international. It is believed that neither of these clubs will come up with a transfer offer for David Villa this summer, although Arsenal’s interest continues to rise.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is aiming to bolster his attack by bringing in a veteran striker. The Frenchman expressed intentions of pursuing David last summer and during the winter transfer window, but Barcelona refused to accept any offers.

Since they have now signed in the Brazilian football prodigy, Neymar, the doors to David Villa’s exit might have opened. Therefore, Barcelona could be willing to sell the Spain’s top goal scorer for a cut-price deal.

Meanwhile, David Villa, who is scheduled to play for Spain in friendlies against Haiti and the Republic of Ireland in the United States, claims he has decided about his future yet. The former Valencia striker reckons he will get to make the decision after his international duty is over.

“I have a contract and I have always said that I'm very happy at Barcelona,” David Villa said. “Throughout my career I have always been respectful of my current club. Right now I'm just thinking about doing a good job in Brazil and then we will see.

“We will have to analyze many things during the summer, but as of right now I'm not thinking of anything else other than playing football for Spain.”
