Assuming Dodger fans don't do anything stupid and act like complete imbeciles (that's asking a lot), I believe it's appropriate that Barry Bonds is greeted with the same attitude he has directed to the fans and media throughout his career.
As far as baseball as a whole is concerned, the fact he's on the road particularly in LA and SD (where the famous syringe was tossed), makes this must watch television. It's much more compelling to me that Barry Bonds home run occurs in any honest environment, instead of under the watchful eye of those with blinders.
Above is brief video of the treatment he's likely to receive tonight. Again, I of course hope no one does anything stupid tonight, but I hope the jeers and signs are loud.
I, for one, would be surprised to see it happen, but I remember back to when Henry passed Babe Ruth's 714 early in the 1974 season(unfortunately, I'm that old!!) and there was talk about him being held out of the opening series at Cincinnatti, and Bowie Kuhn stepped in, and decreed that Henry ought to play. He did, hit 714 there(off of Jack Billingham) and then got the record-breaker off of Al Downing once they got home.
I would be equally surprised to see Barry hit a homer until he gets home, because I don't think he'll be seeing too many pitches to hit. At this point, I just want it(756*) to get hit, and we can get on with more important things, like the division/wildcard races!!
