Bayern Munich uninterested in want away Man Utd star Wayne Rooney
Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer is renowned to play a huge role in the signings at the German outfit. Therefore, when Matthias Sammer puts an end to transfer rumors suggesting Bayern Munich want to sign in Manchester United star Wayne Rooney that means Wayne Rooney will not be wearing the red of Bayern next season.
In a recent press release Matthias Sammer revealed that Bayern Munich were least interested in signing Wayne Rooney. Matthias Sammer added that he had no idea as to “what Rooney would bring to the Bundelsiga”.
Henceforth, it’s safe to assume that Wayne Rooney is staying put at Manchester United unless some other club shows interest in him. Earlier this week, Manchester United confirmed that their star forward Wayne Rooney had handed in his transfer request.
The news gave birth to a whirlpool of speculation regarding where Wayne Rooney wanted to move to. Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain were the frontrunners for a while, but that was before Pep Guardiola’s rumored interest in Wayne Rooney came along.
From that point onwards, Wayne Rooney and Bayern Munich have been heavily linked together. Meanwhile, Wayne Rooney has admitted frustration over the playing opportunities he has received this season.
It is thought that Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure from Manchester United might have prompted Wayne Rooney to move away from Old Trafford. Interestingly, that alone is not the reason behind Wayne Rooney’s desire to move away.
Wayne Rooney’s frustration is because of him being shifted to the midfield from the forward position and being dropped from the first-team. For reasons unknown, Sir Alex Ferguson dropped Wayne Rooney from the first-team in the crucial Champions League match against Real Madrid.
The forward was also benched in Sir Alex Ferguson’s last home game at Old Trafford, which was against Swansea City last Sunday. Manchester United’s incumbent manager David Moyes has offered Wayne Rooney an olive branch and hopes to start things fresh, but the 27-year-old hasn’t responded to the gesture just yet.
Sir Alex Ferguson has himself revealed that the 27-year-old England international has handed in a transfer request which is being looked at. Bayern Munich could have been a possible destination for Wayne Rooney, but the Bundesliga champions appear to be uninterested in acquiring his services.
“I don't know what Rooney would bring to the Bundesliga,” Mattias Sammer said. “I can't answer that. I can answer that we have great respect for Wayne Rooney but there has been no contact with him. There is no contact and he's not on the agenda. No, no. Absolutely not.”
