Bayern star Toni Kroos has discussed Manchester United move with his family
Rumors about Toni Kroos’ interest to move to Manchester United have been proven right. The Bayern Munich midfielder’s brother, Felix Kroos has confirmed that Toni discussed the possibility of moving to Manchester United with his family.
Kroos has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United since last summer. Manchester United have reciprocated interest in the attacking midfielder, but Bayern Munich are adamant about keeping the attacking midfielder at home.
The Germany international has been personally scouted by Manchester United manager David Moyes. A summer offer from Manchester United can be expected. Reports suggest Moyes will use the treasure chest he will allotted in the summers to place a big bid on the 24-year-old midfielder.
Kroos has a binding contract with Bayern Munich till 2015, which means Bayern Munich will be tempted to sell him this summer if they are unable to make him ink an extension in his contract. Rumors suggest Kroos is weighing up his options.
The negotiating process over a new deal between Kroos and Bayern Munich fell apart in January with Kroos later announcing that he will look into the deal once again when the season is over. This has put Bayern Munich under direct pressure, although manager Pep Guardiola has announced he is not going to force Kroos to stay at the club.
Felix, who to plays as an attacking midfielder for Werder Bremen, claims his brother is weighing up his options.
“We have already talked about it. Manchester has been the team of my dreams since I was a child,” Felix told Sky Germany. “However, I don’t give [Toni] any advice. He will take a good decision for himself. There are worse situations than having to decide something like that.”
Moyes has confirmed he will sign in a new central midfielder this summer, whether it is Kroos or another player. The opportunity at Manchester United will be a good one for Kroos, since he will be given the leading role and the license to dominate the midfield.
The Premier League champions are in the rebuilding process and desperately need reinforcements. Therefore, Kroos could even be handed a leading role and in future the captain’s armband.
Moyes has already signed in Marouane Fellaini and Juan Mata to his midfield. After failing in his bids to bring Cesc Fabregas, Thiago Alcantara, Sami Khedira and Ander Herrera; Kroos can still be the crown jewel of Moyes’ new squad.
