Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, What To Watch NBC Schedule Day 5
Get Ready For One Olympic Sized Beatdown
READ MORE:
Today's Olympic schedule is again packed with goodness, but at least for the morning, that goodness won't be on NBC. Yep, here's hoping you have USA Network, because this morning at 8am EST, you can watch Team USA bring the pain on Angola. This game won't even be close, naturally, so why watch? Because I want to see LeBron try a 720 dunk, that's why.

Also, later this evening we'll get to see Michael "Golden Boy" Phelps go for two more golds, the women's team gymnastics final, and somewhere along the way, there's some beach volleyball.

Here's the day's schedule.

USA Network

8am to 12pm - The U.S. men's basketball team, in its second game of the Olympic tournament, plays Angola (LIVE ET/CT). Also, American Venus Williams tries to get past second-round opponent Iveta Benesova of Czech Republic. Williams, a double gold medalist in 2000, is making her third Olympic appearance and has a chance to set the all-time record for tennis gold medals (3). Plus, men's water polo: Serbia vs. Croatia.

NBC

10am to 1pm
- Back to Chaoyang Park Ground for a men's beach volleyball match between Jake Gibb and Sean Rosenthal of the U.S. against Germany's Julius Brink and Christoph Dieckmann (LIVE ET/CT). Also, the U.S. men's water polo team plays Italy in another qualifying match, more swimming prelims, and whitewater canoe/kayak gold medals are awarded in the men's K-1 and C-1 events.

8pm to 10pm - Gold medal-contending Americans Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers play Mariano Joaquin Baracetti and Martin Alejo Conde of Argentina (LIVE ET/CT). Also, divers vie for medals on the women's 10m synchronized platform, where China has dominated at previous Olympics.

10pm to 12pm - Four swimming finals, and Michael Phelps contends for gold in two of them. First, the 200m fly, then the 4x200m free relay. By the end of the Beijing Games, the 23-year-old Maryland native could become one of the all-time most decorated Olympians. Katie Hoff, a product of the same Baltimore-area pool that produced Phelps, also has medal chances, in the 200m free and 200m IM (LIVE ET/CT). Plus, the final night of women's team gymnastics competition.
