Holy pierogi! Ben Roethlisberger appears in a new 'Pittsburgh Dad' episode
"Pittsburgh Dad" stahted aht as a one-minute sitcom, with usually only Pittsburgh Dad himself appearing and yelling at his wife, children and various other offscreen characters. But some of the recent episodes have gotten more and more ambitious. Last year, Pittsburgh Dad interviewed several Steelers in training camp, because he's getting pretty famous n'that anymore.
So settle down on the cahhch and check out the new episode of Pittsburgh Dad featuring Ben Roethlisberger below.
Pittsburgh Dad is actually actor and comedian Curt Wootton. He invented the Pittsburgh Dad character during an acting gig on the set of a short-lived series of SyFy network web shorts called "The Mercury Men". He just did it to entertain the crew during their downtime, but "Pittsburgh Dad" has gone on to eclipse that series in popularity.
"The inspiration for Pittsburgh Dad actually comes from my own father," Wootton says in a video explaining the origins of Pittsburgh Dad. "I grew up in Greensburg, PA. My dad's actually from Bloomfield, my mom's from Penn Hills. So I've got the whole Pittsburgh area working together there."
The video also promotes Roethlisberger's new charity fund drive. Bign Ben and Pittsburgh Dad have teamed up to sell Black & Gold Fan bbq and dipping sauces for Father's Day. Proceeds benefit the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation for the training of service dogs, and the Children's Hawwspital of Pittsburgh.
