With the possibility of no playoff games from the Eastern Conference going to a Game 6 and two sweeps in the Western Conference, the 2012 playoffs have been somewhat lopsided thus far; with the exception of one series.
The 1st round matchup between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Memphis Grizzlies has been an absolute slugfest. With the Clippers now up 3-1, this series has been much more competitive than the record shows.
Here are some of the story lines from the first four games.
Game 1 - Clippers win 99-98 in historic come from behind victory
Game 2 – Grizzlies win 105-98 in revenge victory
Game 3 – Clippers win 87-86 despite Rudy Gay's last minute heroics
Game 4 – Clippers win 101-97 behind Chris Paul's 8 points in OT
The Clippers have now won their 3 games by a total of 5 points. With the series now heading back to Memphis, this series is far from over. With every victory coming down to the final possession of the game, the Memphis Grizzlies are due for a break based upon the law of averages. So, don't be surprised if this highly entertaining series goes to a Game 7.
If not, round 2 cannot come soon enough.
