Much like the ACC, they should just go ahead and play the final on Day 1. Is there any possibility of another team crashing the party? Normally I'd resort to the 'anything can happen, it's March Madness' mantra, but Kansas and Texas are in a different league. What's at stake?
For the big boys, it's a possible 1-seed.
For Kansas State, it's a chance to cement their bid and start figuring out the necessary offense to win in March. Option 1: give to Beasley. Option 2: give to Beasley. Option 3: If he give it back to you and you're absolutely wide open, throw up a prayer.
Oklahoma is probably in, but Texas A&M and Baylor shouldn't take any chances. It helps Syracuse eliminated themselves. Both have a great opportunity to win their second games against K-State and the Sooners, respectively.
Overall, I think it's a chance for the league to prove itself, one that could be a little underrated come next week.
