The Big East is preparing to announce a divisional alignment that would take into effect to start the 2013-14 football season, reports Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports.
Pending a presidential approval, the conference will be split between two geographical divisions (East and West). But as Dodd pointed out, the "Big East West Division" is far too confusing, so new names will be given after the acceptance.
Here's how the refurbished 12-team Big East Conference is expected to look:
“West"
Boise State
Houston
San Diego State
SMU
Memphis
Louisville/Cincinnati
“East”
Central Florida
Cincinnati/Louisville
Connecticut
Rutgers
South Florida
Temple
A decision is expected to be made by Wednesday (Nov. 14) morning.
