My predictions for Week 1 of Big Ten Conference play:

Ohio State at Michigan State – In the Big Ten Game of the Week, Braxton Miller makes a big play (or two) but Michigan State’s defense and a heavy dose of Le’Veon Bell hand the Buckeyes their first loss of the season.
Michigan State 20, Ohio State 14

Wisconsin at Nebraska – The Huskers are looking forward to this matchup after Wisconsin took Nebraska behind the woodshed in their matchup in Madison last year. Taylor Martinez may have been skipping rocks in the past, but his numbers say he's playing differently this year.
Nebraska 27, Wisconsin 17

Indiana at Northwestern – Northwestern has a team as competitive as its head coach and Indiana comes limping in even after a bye week.  I like Kain Colter and you should too!  Expect a shootout, Wildcats prevail by a couple scores.
Northwestern 45, Indiana 31

Penn State at Illinois – The matchup to watch here is Penn State’s D against (returning from injury) Nate Scheelhaase.  Quick, Penn State: Legends or Leaders?
Penn State 13, Illinois 10

Minnesota at Iowa – Without MarQueis Gray, the Gophers lack the big play ability needed to win in Iowa City.  Even a bad Hawkeyes team can control this game on the ground and prevent Minnesota from reaching the end zone.
Iowa 20, Minnesota 3

Bonus:  Marshall at Purdue – Normally this spot will be occupied by a matchup of national significance but Purdue has their final non-conference game before starting Big Ten play against Michigan next week.  The Thundering Herd will put the ball in the air early and often as the Boilers will look to showcase their newfound ground attack and solid D.
Purdue 35, Marshall 24

Michigan - Bye

I will be pulling for both Michigan State and Nebraska, however I would not be surprised if both Wisconsin and Ohio State pull the upset.  For one thing 11.5 point favorites over any big 10 team, especially the Badgers seems awfully high even at home for Nebraska.  Might be lower by game time since Monte Ball is playing however that is what the spread was at times on Friday.  Also agree with Mike that Iowa might win, but doubt by that much since they have looked terrible this year in losses to Iowa State and Central Michigan.

As long as Penn State doesn't start running a spread offense, the Illini have a shot.  The matchup to watch will be coach versus coach as so far, Tim Beckman looks over matched coaching a BCS program. Also, don't forget that there is no love lost between these two programs after Beckman and company were part of the group of coaches that raided Penn State looking for players right after the NCAA handed down their ruling.  Off the field might be more entertaining then what happens on the field

I don't neccessarily like Wisconsin's chances, actually I hate them, but I think there's a decent chance Taylor Martinez hands us the game. He looks good early every season.

Also, just cannot see Iowa beating anyone in conference by 17 points this year. I'd even take Minnesota over them.
