Bill Simmons and Stan Van Gundy Join ESPN's Half Time Show
According to Sports By Brooks, the NBA studio on ESPN will not return analysts Chris Broussard or Jon Barry to their halftime show, instead they will be adding author Bill Simmons and former coach Stan Van Gundy.
It was apparent to NBA viewers that ESPN’s crew lacked the chemistry and insight that the TNT currently has with Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, and Shaquille O’Neal.
With the addition of Stan Van Gundy – who is a X’s and O’s guy- and Bill Simmons – who is a comic relief guy – ESPN has taken a positive step forward. There is still some speculation as to whether Simmons and SVG will actually join the half-time show, but they would be a welcomed paring alongside Magic Johnson and Michael Wilbon.
