Blogging the bases power outage edition ...
Padres 9, Mets 8 Wagner has picked a bad time to get lit up. San Diego sported a 5 run lead heading into the 6th, only to watch a Marlon Anderson HR wipe the lead away. Billy gave up 2 runs on 3 hits in the top of 9th, giving the lead back to the Padres. David Wright sacrificed an RBI to save the game in the bottom half, and then Adrian Gonzalez ended in the 10th. Whew.
Indians 3, Tigers 1 Two teams went scoreless for 9 innings, decided it'd be fun to start scoring runs in the 10th.
Giants 4, Cubs 1 I have to admit I've been skeptical that once Carlos got his contract, he'd lose his touch. So far, so bad. I'm not sure where to find this statistic, but I'm willing to bet Zambrano ranks very high in giving up HR's to opposing pitchers.
Nats 7, Astros 6 Remember how the Nationals were to be the worst.team.ever. Still not good, but they've got a better record than you'd think.
Honorable Mention Dud: People's Energy in Chicago. "Your power will be on again sometime in the next 2-3 days." Well, thanks.
