Blackhawks add injured Kane to their hectic season, make impressive recovery in season
Now that they have their starting forward down for definitely the rest of the games of regular season, it would seem that the Hawks are weakened and prone to attacks. Instead, they are consolidating their strengths and giving a performance even better than those with him. They take their injuries not as weaknesses but as a note to step up their game.
The Hawks found themselves in the third place in the Central Division and just 2 weeks ago their position was at an utter loss. When the Olympic break came to an end they were in complete disarray and the following games proved it. But after getting thrown on the ground by various teams the Hawks got their act together and the entire team began to play better. With combined effort they clawed their way back to the top. They are now just 4 points shy of the first place and they have their sights set on that target.
Blues head coach Ken Hitchcock said that the Hawks weren’t a team that dialled down their game and were stepping it up as the regular season comes to and end and all teams start to fight to win the last few games. Those are the most fiercely contested ones as all of them are looking to get those final few victories and get a better chance of making it to the playoffs.
“They know when to turn the temperature up. They’re getting ready. This is March,” Hitchcock said. “This isn’t December and January or the middle of the season. They’re cranking it up to another level.”
