True Hoop applauds Lebron James reaction to no-call and is convinced it will eventually come back to him ...
Sam Rubenstein has possibly the best quote of the entire NBA playoffsBig no-call, and no Cavalier complaints about it. What I like about it is that it's a long-term play. I'm a never-say-die guy, but I'm sure just about everyone agrees that this series is over. And the way the Cavaliers are playing it is by carrying forth a certain ethic. A way of doing business. That's about much more than Game 3, Game 4, or even this whole NBA Finals. That's about who LeBron James is, who the Cavaliers are, and what all that means for many years to come.
You never look past the Finals, right? You never count on getting back here at all. Plenty of great players have gone a long time, or even an entire career, without making it. Who thinks longer term than this?
A 22-year-old superstar who has plans to be back many times. Maybe it pays off next game. Maybe it pays off next year. Maybe it pays off next decade. Until further notice, however, that's how it's going to be, and I like it.
It’s like Mike Brown is David Chase and LeBron is the viewing public. Brown gives him a blank screen and it’s up to LeBron to figure it out for himself.Brian Windhorst remarks on Varejao momentarily believe he was Olajuwan with a step through ...
Anderson Varejao always wants to shoot, the man has taken 3-pointers in this postseason. This is the last guy you want with the ball in a pressure situation trying to create his own shot. It is a disaster waiting to happen. It happened. This is a experience issue, in that case he's got to be smarter with the ball. Mike Brown was trying hard to get a timeout there. We all know the play out of the timeout would've been an iso play for the LeBron at the top of the key and the Spurs would've been ready. Who can say the Cavs would've even got a better shot with the timeout. Nonetheless, when the season is on the line there has to be better decisions made. Another lesson.Basketbawful thanks for the refs for also ruining the first half ...
One minute left in the half and the game is tied at 38. Is the defense really this good, or is this about LeBron and Duncan both having to sit the last 6 minutes of the second quarter with 3 fouls?…both of the superstars, by the way, were forced to sit on nothing calls – Bowen flopped on a hand to the back from LeBron, and Duncan did NOT foul Ilgauskas for his third. Nice work refs…way to let ‘em play.Pounding the Rock sounds like a Spurs fan ...
Anyone plan to watch Thursday's game. Wake me up before the NBA DraftWell that was
disgracefulintense. Whenever a game like this breaks out, the talking heads are fond of using the ol' "this one set the game of basketball back forty years" line, but let's be honest, most Eastern Conference playoff games are like this, aren't they?
Don't blame the Spurs for this not being a series. We did our part tonight. It was another classic pussy game all the way. We literally could not have played any worse offensively, outside of Tim accidentally twisting Manu or Tony's head off congratulating them on a nice play going into the first time out. And don't let the Cavs' low total fool you either. They had wide open looks all night. If they could shoot worth a lick, they would've been good for 93 points or so tonight. Alas, they suck. Seriously, if we played like this against any Western playoff team, we would've gotten our asses handed to us, plain and simple.
