Covering all the bases from the last day of the first half ...
Phillies 8, Rockies 4 The 10,000th team loss will have to wait. Good thing, because Philly didn't deserve to lose. Especially considering the entire squad jumped out of the dugout to help the Rockies ground crew who struggled to contain the tarp under ridiculous winds. I hope there's some YouTubbage, might be the highlight of the first half.
Tigers 6, Red Sox 5 I agree, a broom is an excellent parting gift. Are the Tigs the best team in baseball now?
Yankees 12, Angels 0 Ideal way to go into the All Star break, although with the way the bats were connecting today perhaps you'd want to keep playing. A-Rod hit his 30th HR, which means all baseball fans need to root for him to his 32 in the second half.
Pirates 6, Cubs 2 The exact opposite way to go into the break. Losing a series to the Pirates when you're trying to gain ground on the division leader who's losing to the Nats. Ugh.
Braves 5, Padres 4 So now that Andruw Jones has started to hit a little better, he can ask for more pitching help?
Bravo to Kenny Williams for re-signing Mark Buehrle. That's a guy that has to retire a White Sox.
