Covering all the bases from a Wednesday in baseball ...
U.S.S. Sweep Mariners 2, Red Sox 1 I'm not going to say it's Manny Ramirez fault, but 9 out of 10 left fielders are either 1) going to catch Jose Lopez deep drive or 2) at least not look so clumbsy in missing the ball. Did you realize the Mariners have the second best record in June? Combined with the Angels being swept by the Royals -- yes -- Seattle is now just 5 back in West. Raise your hand if you didn't have the Mariners finishing last in this division.
Angels flushed by the Royals? KC 1, Ana 0 Anaheim had twice as many hits Wednesday, scattering 10, but Mark Teahan's single RBI was the only one of the game. A sweep over the 1st place Angels. This will be the first winning month for KC since July 2003.
Even the Cubbies are sweeping Cubs 6, Rockies 3 Of course the Brewers have been hot as well, so the NL Central remains a 7.5 game lead. That will change this weekend with Milwaukee visiting Wrigley. Mike Fontenot is the balls. That is all.
Bedard Bedamn Orioles 4, Yankees 0 Following yet another sterling Erik Bedard outing that wasn't wasted by the bullpen, Camden Chat would like to finally give the Yankees their due: What a big, fat waste of money this joker is turning out to be. The only thing that's made being an O's fan worthwhile in the last week and a half or so has been these two wins over the New York Yankees, the second of which saw Erik Bedard absolutely dominate the Bronx Bums and Roger Clemens get his ass kicked and fail to strike out even Corey Patterson. That post makes my day.
Feel free to add on to anything I've left out.
