Covering all the bases from Sunday in MLB ...
Yankees 21, Devil Rays 4 The Giants could play the Buccaneers three straight games and likely fall short of 45 points combined. What an embarrassment for Devil Rays pitching: 38 runs allowed in 2 days, 45 in 3 days. An outstanding time to get called up into the New York lineup: Shelley Duncan is going to think this is easy (3 HR during the series, 2 on Sunday). Such a good weekend in New York, they even went to the lame low five and it's totally excusable. Tampa, as you might imagine, is considering the future of the manager.
Red 8, White 5 It should be a little disconcerting that Red Sox are ecstatic about beating the Sad Sox. Then again, they did just lose a series to the Royals. All is forgiven because of this line: On the other offensive side of things, Hawk Harrelson is awful. That is all.
Royals 5, Tigers 2 Yes, Kansas City just beat the Red Sox and Tigers in back-to-back series. Isn't baseball great? Detroit bloggers are blaming it on playing at home ... that's a new one (although I do sort of understand the logic). Guess who the Royals take on next? Yep ... Yankees.
Jason Kendall now 1-11 with the Cubs. That's sweet. And really all I want to say about that.
Nats 3, Rockies 0 If you think you had a bad weekend, consider that Colorado didn't score a run on the Nationals.
