Blog Photo - Bo Pelini has metldown for the ages during, following lossBo Pelini was a one-man machine of firable offenses today, both during and after Nebraska's 38-17 loss to Iowa. Seeming like a man who can't wait for Nebraska to just get it over with and fire him, Coach Pelini got grouchy with a sideline reporter on live television, threw his hat at an official (!) during the game, and cursed at reporters during his postgame press conference. Let's enjoy all of Pelini's follies today, because it is unlikely he will be coaching a Division I school again in the near future.

The Huskers found themselves down 14-3 at halftime, and Pelini was none too kind to ABC sideline reporter tasked with interviewing him. Pelini channels Gregg Popovich in this wonderfully abrupt interview, and actually breaks into a sprint to avoid ABC's Quint Kessenich.

That was not all.

Blog Photo - Bo Pelini has meltdown for the ages during, following lossShortly before that, a pass interference call went against Pelini and the Cornhuskers. As we see in the animated GIF at right that comes to us courtesy Deadspin, Pelini takes off his hat and throws it at the official's face. Pelini's throwing motion is terrible, so the hat fortunately misses its mark. Nonetheless, the soon-to-be-fired Pelini receives a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty against his team.

Referring to the penalty and hat toss after the game, Pelini said " I thought that was a chicken s*** call. Excuse my language on that, but I had never seen anything like that before.I’ve done a lot worse than that. I saw [Iowa head coach] Kirk Ferentz on the other side acting a lot worse than I act. I didn’t see a flag come out on him. The bottom line is they knew they blew the call. They blew it. They blew that call over there on that third down. Everybody in the stadium knew it. They just didn’t man up enough to pick that flag up."

This does not even factor in the audio tape were Pelini is recorded saying "F*** you, fans. F*** all of you.' F*** 'em." Pelini has coached the Cornhuskers since 2007.

Ya know, had Nebraska stayed in the Big 12, Missouri might have stayed as well, the conference might have remained at 12 teams and the Cornhuskers would have been beating the buffalo droppings out of Colorado today on their way to being the North division representative in the Big 12 championship game. But noooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
