Mandatory Credit: Geoff Burke-USA TODAY SportsWhen Bobby Ryan left the Anaheim Ducks, he felt relief, but still has no hard feelings against the team who dealt him to the Ottawa Senators.

Ryan talked about the move, saying:

“[I’m] just glad that side of it is done, that I can kind of move forward and focus on just playing games and helping my team win. Not knowing how you were going to get treated day-to-day in the locker room because you don’t know what the latest rumor was. It was a very amicable split. There’s no hard feelings or anything like that. I think a lot of people imagined we had. It was just time to move on and they agreed with it.I’m excited that it’s over.”

It wasn’t a secret that Ryan was upset about his future being in limbo, but he’s already gotten over it.

The Senators will have Ryan for two more seasons, with $5.1 million counting towards the cap. After that, he’ll be a free agent and can decide where he wants to go.

This still rips my heart out. I was quite perturbed by the way he was treated in Anaheim too - seems like every time there were rumors it was about where Bobby Ryan might end up; when he was leaving, who might get him...every trade deadline. I was so excited when he signed the extension, but it didn't stop the rumors. I don't blame him for being glad that mess is over, but it doesn't make it any easier, as a Ducks fan, having lost him. Ugh. He didn't deserve that, and I'm glad he's going to be able to play (in another conference...) and not have to worry about that.

He was one of my favorites too! Sad to see him go, and I think this response from him only serves to show what they lost. I'm holding out hope that they bring him back as a free agent *fingers crossed* (long shot, I know lol)

My hope is that after his current contract expires, he'll join the Kings.  laugh
