Bobby Valentine thinks he'll still be managing the Red Sox next year. What team has he been watching?

Mandatory Credit: Kim Klement-US PRESSWIREWhen asked if he thinks he'll be back with the Red Sox next year, manager Bobby Valentine gave a rather curious answer.

"My gut feeling is they haven’t talked to me yet. There hasn’t been any dialogue. We’ve talked, but not about that. Which makes me think I’m coming back."

It looks like Bobby has misinterpreted things.

Based on the team's performance, as well as public sentiment about him, I believe the reason ownership hasn't talked to him about bringing him back next year is because they'll NEVER talk to him about that.

The only conversation anyone from the Red Sox will have with Bobby Valentine is likely to involve pleading with him to NOT write a book about how dysfunctional this team has been.

It's safe to say that there are very few Red Sox fans who want Bobby back, and it would be a hard sell if they trotted him out in 2013, particularly if they want their much-ballyhooed sellout streak to continue.

Assuming it continues, the streak will reach 800 early next season. It would be shocking if fans tolerated the return of Valentine, especially if the team doesn't completely retool and reload their roster.

The Red Sox desperately need a face lift. Starting with the manager, and reaching across nearly the entire roster, things need to change.

Sorry, Bobby, but you've got to go.

I am sure he and Ozzie Guillen should be hitting the unemployment line together then.  Both teams in my opinion are worse off with these 2 guys then they were with last years managers.

I think he's doing an okay job, but not a great job.
