On opening night in Boston a Celtics fan held up a sign that read:
82-0. Too Soon?
I guess not.
Paul Pierce led the Celtics with 31 points and Kevin Garnett had another double-double (18 and 11) in the Celtics 6th straight win to start the season.
Despite the nervous, envious and jealous cries from many fans on this site that the Celtics are "overrated," that their "wins are weak" or even "fluke" it's an appropriate time to start wondering how many games Boston will win this year and when that first loss may come.
For the top Western Conference team with previous regular season success, it's inevitable they'll become bored a few nights leading up to the playoffs and ultimately won't threaten the Chicago Bulls record for wins in a season. It's going to be different this season for Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce who are so sick of losing games that I think they'll give 70 victories a good run. This, of course, has a fair amount to do with much weaker competition in the East but it should do nothing to take away from the accomplishment that will land them among the best regular season records ever. It's going to happen. If you think it won't, you aren't really familiar with KG.
How many wins are you predicting for the C's?
