NBA Triple Threat: Your daily round up of last night's action in the association.Boston 102 Milwaukee 97 OT
A somewhat controversial game in Milwaukee tonight. The Bucks, already playing without Michael Redd and Charlie Vilanueva, found themselves without Andrew Bogut who was ejected with 3:58 left in the fourth. That ejection actually seemed to fire up the Bucks who were down five at the time but rallied to tie the game at end end of regulation. However, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce stepped in overtime and led the Celtics to the win on the their second night of back to back games. The Celtics, who had been struggling offensively, shot a very effective 46% tonight in their win. The Bucks didn't blame the Bogut ejection for their loss, but didn't deny that it played a key part. In the end, the Celtics looked like the same championship team they were last year, which they hope to repeat.
Cleveland 105 Utah 93
The Jazz held a 53-46 lead at halftime, but LeBron James wasn't going to let that be. Capping off a 2nd half comeback, LeBron scored 16 of his 38 points in the fourth quarter. It should be no surprise then that LeBron calls the fourth quarter "winning time" because that's just what he did. Mo Williams contributed a solid 20 point performance as LeBron's Robin. The Cavaliers move to 8-2 and are only a half game behind the Celtics. Look for a fun, competitive battle between the Cavs, Pistons, and Celtics as the season progresses.
Houston 91 New Orleans 82
Depending on your view, Houston either got lucky tonight or played great defense. Either way, Chris Paul only shot 2 of 10 tonight and only had 12 points. While CP3 also had 12 assists, it simply wasn't enough. While nobody from Houston had a spectacular night, their starting line-up combined for 67 points and Von Wafer came off the bench for another 10 points. The Rockets also held Peja Stojakovic to 3 points as they held the Hornets to only a 40% shooting night. Due to this result, the Hornets fell out of first in the Southwest division and the Rockets sprung themselves into first. The battle between these two teams for the division title should be an interesting one all year long.
