And when he came back about a month ago, the team had no clue that they would be getting him back stronger and more determined than ever. But even so, time off the court and game tends to make the game a little foreign and that was exactly how he played in the starting six games.

And from January 17 he was in six games for the Celtics. They ended up losing all six. But things were completely different on Sunday.

At his hometown in Boston they played the Orlando Magic and Rondo had the best game of the season against them. He scored a total of 3 steals, had 6 rebounds, scored 19 points and had a total of 10 assists and 4 turnovers. Looks like the rust he had acquired from all the inactivity is starting to get off and a glimpse of the old Rondo was visible from that match.

The Celtics are in dire need of a player that can play like that and Rondo is the answer to their prayers. They knew that the rust would come off eventually and they would get their old Rondo back. Rondo was selected 21 overall in the NBA Draft 2006 by the Phoenix Suns and shortly after was traded to Boston Celtics. He had good stamina and showed no signs of the injury plaguing him. During the 4th quarter he racked 4 points along with 6 assists.

When Rondo returned he was named the team captain and is the 15th one in franchise history. If he continues to play as he did against Magic then he is bound to get better at the game. With a healthy and steadily improving Rondo at their side, Boston Celtics can be assured that the coming games will be way better than the ones they have had.
