While most of Boston was heading to bed with the Red Sox down 7-0 last night, there was one man who believed that the Sox could come back.
Yes, during the Red Sox's bleakest hour, random fat guy Rick Melanson hopped into action. And by hopped into action I mean he regrettably took off his shirt and started waving for the crowd to wake up and cheer the home team on.
Obviously hypnotized by Melanson's undulating fatness, the Boston crowd responded and gave new hope to its team, which proceeded to score 8 unanswered runs.
I have no doubt that this man saved Boston's season. But wait, it may not have been just Melanson who spurred the Sox on to victory.
Red Sox Monster informed me that the real reason the Red Sox won was because Boston fans are now rocking the reverse Ray-Hawk, seen below.

And last, but certainly not least, apparently Rays superfan Brian "Nasty Boy" Knobbs was ejected from the stadium for rowdy behavior in the eighth inning. Knobbs had apparently been present in all of Tampa Bay's previous victories in the series. Knobbs, a former pro wrestler, is known as the Rays' official 10th Man.

So, just so everyone knows, the comeback last night had nothing to do with the players on the field at all. No sir. It had everything to do with fat guys, reverse mohawks, and drunk wrestlers. Man, I can't wait for Game 6.
