Ernst van Dyk won his 10th Boston Marathon in the wheelchair division, coming in with a time of 1 hour, 20 minutes and 36 seconds.
Tatyana McFadden won the women's division for the second straight year, with a time of 1 hour, 35 minutes and 6 seconds.
Rita Jeptoo of Kenya has won the women's division of the Boston Marathon, setting a course record in the process.
Jeptoo won in 2006 and again in 2013. She won this year with an unofficial time of 2 hours, 18 minutes and 57 seconds. She was the first of four women who all finished faster than the previous Boston Marathon course record.
American Shalane Flanagan led for much of the race but fell behind later. She still set a personal best of 2 hours, 22 minutes and 2 seconds, good for sixth place.
On the men's side, Meb Keflezighi of San Diego won, becoming the first American man to win in Boston since Greg Meyer in 1983.
